NWVU chosen for ‘Tis the Season campaign
The United Relief Foundation has selected the National Women Veterans United to be the benefactor of the organization’s ‘Tis the Service of Service campaign.
From November 11 to December 31 ‘Tis the Service of Service campaign will be focused on female veterans with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and experiencing food insecurity.
Women veterans are the fastest growing group in the homeless population, and women veterans in general face significant economic and housing challenges with veterans who are single mothers being particularly vulnerable.
The ‘Tis the Service of Service campaign will be supplying veterans with the personal hygiene products, clothing, food and other basic dignity and wellness essentials, and interacting with unsheltered and sheltered homeless veterans.
